Efterklang Parades

Efterklang is a post-pop group from Copenhagen. The group consists of five core members Mads Brauer, Casper Clausen, Thomas Husmer, Rune Mølgaard and Rasmus Stolberg. When performing live, the core five-piece band is complemented with the addition of violinist/singer Peter Broderick, trombonist/singer Niklas Antonson, pianist/singer Anna Brønsted and guitarist/singer Frederik Teige.

Efterklang has a history of working with many guest musicians on their recordings. The filmmaker Karim Ghahwagi can also be found among their key contributors, he has made several visuals for the liveshows 2003-2005 and the video for Swarming. Another key contributor is Nan Na Hvass who is the mastermind behind the critically acclaimed artwork for One-Sided LP, Under Giant Trees, Parades, and the Mirador video.

Von Sudenfed Tromatic Reflexxions

Tromatic Reflexxions is the debut album by Von Sudenfed, the trio formed by Andi Thoma & Jan St Werner from Mouse on Mars & The Falls legendary frontman Mark E Smith.

Matthew Dear As A Breed

Dear's vocal isn't exactly the strongest, but he certainly plays it well. At times it's Bowie-Esq and others a country drawl being helped along by double or triple tracking and I'd imagine even more complex studio equipment. However it's his self consciously schizophrenic approach which suits the shifting lyrical narrative.
Asa Breed is a delightful varied range of styles from his Audion days to Talking Heads whilst throwing in a hidden track which is reminiscent of Johnny Cash

Flying Lotus Reset EP

Instrumental hip-hop is a bit like the works of great cinema composers. At their best, they both offer an immersive experience capable of transporting a listener to some far off place. Just take a look at the work of J Dilla or early DJ Shadow and the scores of Lalo Schifrin and Ennio Morricone for further evidence. But at their worst, they merely follow in the footsteps of past innovators, offering little in the way of creative atmosphere and falling right into the trap of muted indifference.

Luckily for Warp, it looks like they picked a winner with the recent signing of Californian producer Flying Lotus this past year. A grand nephew of jazz great Alice Coltrane, his debut EP for the legendary Sheffield label, Reset, is a sharp showcase for his dark, progressive, beat-driven scores.
